Once upon a time,

I baked on occasion – banana bread here and there, maybe a birthday cake. And then, I didn’t. For years (decades!) I. Did. Not. Bake. I didn’t even have sugar or flour in my pantry, no kidding! So when my 12-year-old stepdaughter, Erin, asked if we could bake macarons, her newfound passion, naturally my first reaction was: I. Don’t. Bake. But let’s be honest, my aversion was no match her sweet face and enthusiasm! Off to the store for supplies we go.

The rest, as they say, is history. I DO bake! Macarons really are magic! Delicately enticing yet infuriatingly finicky, one batch had me spellbound. Now I live in a world of imagination, inspired by la cuisine du monde, endlessly dreaming of fanciful flavors to reinvent this classic confection.
Hi, I’m Lisa – Montana native and world traveler, now settled in the Seattle area living my best life! I’ve abandoned the corporate world to pursue my passions, and I’m over the moon for the opportunity to share my dreams with you! All my macarons are created from the heart and hand crafted, using only the finest carefully curated ingredients.
Erin, piping our very first batch!

…a word about “House Balthazar”

Balthazar: a large format wine bottle holding the equivalent of 16 normal bottles.

Further along my yellow brick road stands a storefront – ‘HB’ on the marquee, dazzling rows of macarons in the window, and glorious racks of sparkling wine behind the counter! I am thrilled to announce that in 2025, this dream becomes reality, as House Balthazar Macaron & Champagne Café will be opening its doors at Harvest Woodinville. I look forward to sharing this new and magical adventure with you!
